Worship CD Review

I recently had the opportunity to listen to "Sovereign Grace Kids". The CD was free to me for review here so I will pass on my opinions to you. I listened to it as well as my wife and children ( 4 and 6).

The words are specifically chosen to encourage a knowledge of our sovereign God. I think the composition of the music does a wonderful job of displaying the truth of God's glory. The songs each tackle some specific thing. The song weaves together meaning and worship. There are not many repetative meaningless phrases but joyful observations about God. The triune God is recognized. His eternal nature is praised. The grace extended to us is valued highly. It was a great to hear!
On the musical side it seems a bit 80's pop-like. I am not a musician. I only can express that the style resembles many sounds from that time period. This is not an mild acoustical CD. The are guitar solos and the like. My 6 year old enjoys and knows the words to some songs already. It would be hard for me to know which songs will draw children, but my prayer is that they ae drawn. When the truth is so clearly presented, it is a pleasure to present it to those young minds.
If you have kids,if you pursue a true relationship with a Holy God, I think you would feel good with this purchase. It is available through the Sovereign Grace Bookstore on their web site.
