HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH

The EFCA Church is planting a new church in Alcoa, Hope Community, with ROCC's own Chris & Jean Carpenter, Kevin & Lindsay Harris, and Curt & Dawn Davis as its leadership!  We want to support these brothers & sisters in their call to ministry in Alcoa by letting you know how to be praying and by communicating what's going on in the life of this new plant.  Please be praying for the following:

  • A note from Hope Community:  As we continue to prepare for our Springbrook Park get-together on Sept. 26th and plan our future meeting times, we ask that you would pray for opportunities to arise to serve in the Alcoa Community, whether that be serving individual families in some capacity, the different Alcoa schools, or community organizations. The value of impacting community service is very important at Hope, so please pray with us for multiple opportunities to show our love for Christ through service in the community.  Also, we have had the opportunity to meet a couple of families who have had difficult past church experiences and are deciding whether to give Hope Community a chance; please pray that we would be able to minister to these families well and that the Lord would take away any fear they may have about coming to Hope.

ADULT STUDIES

  • This Quarter's Adult Sunday School Class: The Truth Project: This quarter will run July through September, and we will be offering one class for adults, which will go through the Truth Project series every Sunday from 9:00am-10:15am in the upstairs classrooms.  The Truth Project is a 12-lesson dynamic video series that centers on developing a Christian worldview. This series discusses issues such as “What is truth?”, “Who is man?”, “Who is God?”, history, ethics, sociology, and much more, all examining how these issues intersect with our everyday lives. We would strongly encourage everyone in the body to participate in this series, and we would also encourage you to invite friends, as this series is a great evangelism tool.  Come to any or all classes - each lesson stands alone, so you will benefit whether you come to all 12 or only make it for 2 or 3 classes.
