PRAISE
& PRAYER REQUESTS
- NEW
Deide McNeilly - Deide will be having an elective surgery
next Friday, March 12. Please pray for a safe and successful
procedure, and that the Lord would bring her healing and a good
recovery afterwards.
- NEW
The Orphan Homes and Community Center in Iraq - Please
be praying for the project
in Iraq that our Mission 1:27 money will go to help.
Iraq is about 97% Muslim, and this war-torn country is home to
many women and children who are silent victims, orphaned and abandoned,
but we have a great opportunity to help impact this community
for Christ and offer a message of hope! Read more about the project

- UPDATED
Tim
Cummings
-
Tim had his final round of intense chemo on Sunday (2/21) and
he finished his stem cell re-insertion early last week. On Friday
(2/26), Tim developed a high fever and infection in one of his
lungs. His white blood cell counts and the oxygen level in his
blood have been very low, and his blood pressure has been high.
As this week has gone on, Tim has gotten increasingly worse and
has been in a lethargic state. He is now in ICU (at Fort
Sanders) and on oxygen, and the doctors have been unable to identify
what his infection is. In addition, Cathy has gotten sick
this week and has had a fever, which has kept her from being able
to be with Tim (because she could make him more sick). But,
the GOOD NEWS is that as of this afternoon
(3/4), Cathy's fever is gone and she has been given antibiotics,
and Tim's fever has left him as well (praise God!) and they are
starting to back down on the amount of oxygen they are giving
him. Please continue to pray that they would be able to
identify what the infection is so that they can treat it, that
the Lord would strengthen Tim's immune system, and pray for Tim's
healing and strength. Please also pray for healing, rest,
and peace for Cathy, who has been very ill and discouraged that
she can't be with Tim during this time of great need. The
hospital is trying to limit visitors to relatives, but if you
would like to try to go and visit Tim (Jim & Edna Davis were
successful in getting in!), please contact Ted Hethcote first
(so that we don't go all at once, and so that he can give you
the most up-to-date info on how Tim is doing) at 661-7562.
Visiting hours are 9:15-10am, 1:00-2pm, 4:30-5pm, and 9:00-10pm,
and Tim would welcome any visitors if they are allowed. Please
continue to pray for Catie, Kuyper, and Hannah as well, as this
has been hard on all of them.
- UPDATED Pam
- Jeff Hutchison's sister, who was admitted last week to ICU in
Atlanta because of COPD, emphysema, and congestive heart failure.
Praise the Lord, they have now taken her off of the ventilator
and she is now in a private room. Please pray for God's
mercy and healing for Pam, and for peace and strength for Jeff
and his family as they minister to her.
- UPDATED Duncan
Wheeler - A friend of Robert and Sharon Banfill, Duncan
had surgery recently for an aneurysm on his heart. The doctors
had given him a 10-20% chance of surviving, but, praise the Lord,
he is now in a private room and will likely be going home from
the hospital in about two weeks! Please continue to pray
for God's healing and protection for Duncan, and for peace and
strength for his wife, Mary.
- Edna Fidler -
Doug Fidler's mom (93), who has recently been having trouble with
her heart. She was in the hospital, but has been released.
Please pray for her healing and strength, and, more than that,
for her salvation.
- Martha Stucky Cox
- Ed Stucky's sister, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and
had a bilateral mastectomy (Feb 19). Her surgery was successful,
and she is doing very well. They found no cancer in her lymph
nodes, praise the Lord! Thank you everyone for your prayers! Please
continue to pray for her recovery.
- Doug Nolte's Family -
Kelli Bigg's cousin, Doug, passed away last week after a battle
with cancer. Please pray for peace and comfort for Kelli
and her family.
- Shelby Trusley
- Shelby had a successful surgery on Monday (2/8), and she is
now recovering at home. Please continue to pray for her
healing and strength, and for Randy as he cares for his dear wife.
- The Newvine Family -
David and Joy Newvine welcomed Jacob Riley Newvine into the world
on February 11th. Mom, dad, baby, and brothers are all doing
well. Please be in prayer for the Newvine family as they
adjust to having a newborn in the house once again!
- Spencer Snelgrove
- Spencer was in a bad car accident three weeks ago. Please
pray for her physical healing, and that the Lord would use this
to draw her to Himself. Pray also for Teri and Sean Snelgrove
as they minister to Spencer.
- Liz Pair
- Please continue to pray for strength, healing, peace, and comfort
for Liz. Pray also for strength and comfort for her husband, Robert,
and the whole Pair family as they care for her, and that God would
continue to keep Robert healthy.
- Haiti
& the Hyppolite Jean Family - Haiti was struck by
a 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday, Jan 12. Please pray for Benssy
and Christy's family, particularly Benssy's brother and cousins,
who live in and around Port A Prince, Haiti. Please pray
for peace, protection, and reunion for their family, as well as
for all of the people of Haiti.
- Al
Van Curen - Dennis Van Curen's father, who has been diagnosed
with colon cancer and underwent 6 months of chemo. Please
continue to pray for healing and strength for Al, as well as for
peace and encouragement for Dennis and Anne, and for Dennis' mom,
Faye.
- Bertha Peterson
- Bertha fell recently and broke her ankle very badly. She
will be out of work for a couple of months. Please pray
for her healing, strength, and encouragement, and for provision
for her family. Pray also for her husband, Michael, and
son, Caleb, as they serve and care for her over these next few
months.
- Robert Olson -
Please pray for Ole & Carole Olson's son, Robert, who is currently
serving a 12-month deployment in Iraq. Pray for his protection,
that the Lord would use him mightily there, and for he and his
family as they are separated.
- Jerry
Lee's Family
- Jerry went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 29.
Please continue to pray for Jackie, their sons and daughter, Jerry's
sister, and the rest of their family, that the Lord would give
them peace, comfort, and encouragement.
- Howard Sweet
- Chris Carpenter's grandfather, who has cancer. Please
pray for God's peace, healing, and mercy on Howard and his family.
- Mindy - Patrick
Bowerman's cousin, 37, who is terminally ill with brain cancer.
Please pray for peace and encouragement for Mindy, and that she
would come to know Jesus so as to have peace eternal.
- EvFree

Church in Szczein, Poland (where the Ozannes are serving as missionaries),

MEN OF RIVER OAKS: We will be starting up our Tuesday
morning men's group beginning this Tuesday, March 9th, at 6:00
am at Mark Evans office right next to Maryville College campus.
Over the next 12 weeks, we will be seeking God and asking Him
to break up the fallow ground in our spiritual walk with Him and
revive our hearts towards Him. If this sounds appealing to you,
more importantly if you find yourself apathetic towards it, please
consider attending this study as we seek Him together beginning
Tuesday, March 9th at 6:00 AM. Please see Chris Kawa if you have
questions.
- NEW!
NEW Small
Groups Starting Soon! The Bergquist, Cash, Perkins

join a small group? Perhaps you didn't want to join an existing
one or jump in half way through a study. Now is your chance to
join a small group right from the beginning.
- The Bergquist small group will be meeting
on Sunday nights at 6:00pm (Beginning Sunday, 3/21), and they
will be studying a parenting/family focused book. Childcare
will be available. The Bergquists home is located off 321

The
studies that are being pursued in these small groups are temporary,
however. These small groups will also be studying books of the
bible and other topics in the future. These groups would lovingly
welcome singles, young married couples, empty nesters - anyone
and everyone is welcome to these groups! Brothers and sisters,
it is our hope that each one of you would be in biblical community
with one another. Small Group is a place where you can grow
spiritually, be challenged personally, where you will be encouraged,
loved, and can be authentic. Please pray about joining one of
these small groups or an existing one if you are able and are
not currently connected. Blessings to you!
